Christiane Koren

Christiane Koren (27 July 1764 – 28 January 1815), was a Danish-Norwegian writer. She wrote poems and plays, but she is primarily known for her diary, which is regarded to be an important historical document of contemporary Norway.
She was the daughter of the Danish factory owner Jess Diederichsen. In Copenhagen, she socialized within Det Norske Selskab. She fell in love with Carl Frederik Dichmann, but married in 1787 to Johan Koren for economical reasons, and left Denmark for Norway.
She published a collection of poems in 1803. Her diary from 1808-1810 and 1813-1815 was published in 1915. Her description of her travel to Denmark in 1802 was published in 1945.
